Nairobi, Kenya — 11 December 2025: Sofax Fluorspar Kenya Ltd and Mizztech Group of China today formalized a major milestone in the revival of Kenya's fluorspar industry with the signing of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contract for the refurbishment of the Fluorspar Processing Plant in Kerio Valley, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
A New Chapter for Kenya's Mining Industry
The signing, which took place at the Kenya Chamber of Mines Gala Dinner, marked the shift from planning to execution in the restoration of Kenya as a key global supplier of fluorspar.
CEO John Masanda stated: "This EPC contract is not just about refurbishing a plant — it is about unlocking the full potential of the Kerio Valley fluorspar reserves, creating jobs, and positioning Kenya as a competitive player in the global fluorspar market."
