Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, H.E. Eng. Ali Hassan Joho, conducted an inspection visit to the Sofax Fluorspar processing plant in Kimwarer, Kerio Valley, affirming the Government of Kenya's strong commitment to the revival of Kenya's fluorspar mining sector.
The CS was accompanied by senior officials from the State Department of Mining and was briefed on the progress of the plant refurbishment programme and the milestones achieved since the signing of the mining contract in February 2024.
Government Backing
During the visit, CS Joho reiterated the government's commitment to creating a favourable investment environment for mining companies and to ensuring that communities in Elgeyo Marakwet County benefit directly from mineral wealth in their region.
